Breaking artistic barriers at Lodestar Academy

Lodestar Academy is thrilled to announce the launch of its virtual art exhibition, featuring an impressive collection of artworks from Year 11 students.

Unlike traditional schools, Lodestar Academy offers a more personalised approach, using the benefits of a smaller setting and a high staff-to-student ratio. This allows students to receive focused attention and guidance, fostering their artistic abilities in ways that might not be possible in a larger, mainstream school.

The art program at Lodestar is designed to be flexible and adaptive, often deviating from the mainstream model to better suit the diverse backgrounds and challenges that our students face.

This individualised approach not only enhances their technical skills but also nurtures their creativity and self-expression, providing them with a keen sense of purpose and achievement.

By overcoming obstacles and embracing their unique paths, Lodestar students can produce exceptional artwork reflecting their resilience and talent.

These students have achieved remarkable success by recently completing their GCSE in just one year.

They began by studying pop-up art for the first two half terms and later delved into natural forms in more detail in the next two half terms.

What sets this exhibition apart is its accessibility to viewers from anywhere in the world. Through our online virtual gallery, art enthusiasts, family members, and the wider community can now immerse themselves in the world of student art from the comfort of their own homes.

The virtual gallery offers a seamless browsing experience, allowing visitors to explore the exhibition at their own pace and examine the intricate details of each artwork.

Benjamin Faux, Art teacher at Lodestar, shared his thoughts on the exhibition:

"Our students have shown incredible creativity and resilience in producing such high-quality artwork in a condensed timeframe.

“This virtual exhibition not only highlights their artistic talents but also their ability to adapt and thrive under challenging circumstances.

“We are immensely proud of their achievements."
